Facts, Fees & Schedules

  • Course Length: 8 week program, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. The school is open for extra student work from 7 am to 9 pm seven days a week. No other school offers after school and weekends hours.

  • Start dates: There are five classes per year.

  • Cost: Tuition cost is $5,000 (there are no other fees or costs except housing, if needed.)

  • Housing: There is a $70 per week fee for dormitory housing. The dormitory is located in the school. Students must purchase and prepare their own meals but the kitchen is furnished with all utensils and appliances.

  • Class size: Classes average 12 to 14 students with two instructors. No student instructors.

  • Tools: Every student is assigned a complete set of hand-tools

  • Equipment: tools, chaps, anvil and forge the first day of school. All tools will be returned the last day of the program.

  • Exams: All written exams may be taken orally. Students are graded on classroom, forge and shoeing.
